Guitar/Backing Vocals: David Clater
David started playing in Edinburgh covers bands such as "The Aztecs" and "George Square" in the 60s, while he was still at school. He cut his musical teeth playing in Edinburgh clubs like The Place and the Top Storey, and is a veteran of Saturday night youth club dances all over the Borders and beyond. He also dabbled in the pub folk scene for a while, though he prefers to keep that to himself.
A self-confessed guitar nut who believes a man can never own too many Fender Telecasters, David acts as the Sabers' Musical Director - in other words he writes out the songs for the rest of the band to play.
